Unhappy Steveston Marine Vancouver

Had a horrible experience there today. I tried to return $200 of products I received from my wife as a Christmas present, which I could not use. She had bought them in early December & they have a 14 day policy to return for a full refund, which obviously we could not meet.
But they have a WRITTEN return policy at their checkout which states a 15% restocking fee if returned after 14 days. They refused any me any credit & would not accept the return, even though I had the original receipt & both products were in their original packaging. When I approached the manager for help, he ignored me & refused me any credit.
This is a lame business, that does not stand behind their products, nor their own WRITTEN return policy.
It's too bad, as I have just bought a 1986 Beneteau 375 & was hoping to inquire about replacing up to $10,000 of 25 year old B&G electronic instruments while I was down there, among other things. I'm taking ALL of my business to West Marine, as they know how to treat a customer properly!

Yah i've seen a few people not so happy there when they couldnt return items.... I saw this real nutcase there about a month back that wouldnt listen that they don't take returns on electronics or books... They actually had to call the cops on this guy, which I commended them on becuase he really does need some professional help... I even felt sorry for his wife/girlfriend that was with him...

Generally I've been happy with Steveston, they even took back the nav lights I bought and opened because they were a different hole pattern from my originals. Their prices are generally a lot lower than West Marine's, especially on electronics.
