Selling a Sailboat Just Before Hurricane Season

Hey all,

Just wondering if I were to try and sell a sailboat valued around 5K in June or July around the Virgin Islands, if I would even be able to do this because of the impending hurricane season? I would assume we would have to reduce our sale price expectation, but maybe not? I have know idea. Does anyone out there have experience with this?

I would say the price would drop by at least 6K around June or July....Hey that is when I was planning on taking a trip down there. Might work out. You could fly me down and I could take your boat off your hands free of charge.

I think the bigger issue might be how long boats are sitting before being sold? I know at higher prices they are sitting much longer, I'm not sure how that changes as the price drops.

hmm boat valued at 5K dropping 6K in sale price. So I should fly you down and then pay you at least $800 to take the boat off my hands right

Hurricane seaon is a long ways away. You might find more buyers in U.S. mainland.

Except the OP is talking about selling it truly before hurricane season - not now, but in June/July next year and likely selling in the carribean.
