Lake Pepin - Seeking advice on route and anchorages

We're getting ready for a long weekend on our 23 foot trailer-sailor, and would appreciate any tips on where to go, and if you have any favorite places to tuck into for a nice quiet night. This will be our first overnight trip with the boat, and I'm really wanting my wife (and self!) to enjoy it to the fullest.

From what I've researched so far, some of the obvious spots (Sandy point?) seem to be either close to the freight trains or immensely popular/noisy on weekends, so any comment on that from people who know the area would be appreciated!

Thinking of launching from either Hansen or Lake City around noon on Friday, sailing south, and then North as far as the winds and mood will take us on Saturday, returning to the launch point sometime on Sunday. Very open to suggestions, and it's of course weather/wind dependent..
