Insurance question Kingston Ontario

Good day everyone,

Im new to the forum and to sailling too. I will be moving to Kingston Ontario in Jully and plan on getting my 1st sail boat...Im a bit on a budget so I was planning to get something around 25 ft and around 20 year old....

My issue, is I cant find any insurance compagnie who want to insure a boat that old...can you help me find a insurance for that?

Or, is it mandatory to have insurances at all? can you access marinas without insurance?

Try Robertson and Robertson Skippers Plan. have been with them for 20 years and very happy. would be with them still but boat now in Europe. You also might be able to put the boat on your home insurance depending on size. You are not required to have Hull Insurance on a boat but I think 2 Mil Liability is a must.

Several Insurance companies in Ontario insure older boats, mine is 40+.
They only require a recent survey by an accredited/certified surveyor.
