looks to be 3000 mile est days maybe 20? more? max speed 6 knts What time of year and just in general.. can it be done single handed? autopilot etc.

all safety equipment, life raft etc on board, sat phone.

I was thinking South to latitude Lisbon Spain then Azores then to Halifax..

I use an average of 100 miles a day, seems to be the most realistic when you look at the big picture.

Story of a Sigma 33 that went straight across in one go and came second in the OSTAR I believe:

What kind of bluewater boat? There are fast ones and there are slow ones. Against the prevailing wind is not likely to be as quick as 20 days. Took us 22 days to go from Connecticut to Cork in an Ohlson 38' sloop with a crew of 6. Most of it was downwind, and we hoisted the spinnaker when we could. We left in June and thought it mighty chilly out there then, especially at night. Later in the season might be more comfortable, but then you start to worry about hurricanes...

The Lisbon, Azores route, with a bit of Southing before curving up to Bermuda then veer N and use the Stream to boost you to NY or further then coastal to Halifax.
My W-E crossings the past few years have had the E'lies extending further W and N for the last few years..
Would suggest a good downwind gennaker on single line furler as the winds will be in the main less than 12kts from Azores on..
