Re: Casting Your ??????????? Upon the Waters

Reminded me of quite a few item's that went kerplonk when racing, usually by crew members hands and usually blocks or shackles that they never preferred...........

Re: Casting Your ??????????? Upon the Waters

Last overnight sailing in the Caribbean: The flashlight said goodbye. Later that day (admittedly we were all a bit tired) a winch handle got tangled just long enough to make it overboard...

The good thing about such losses is that they keep reminding you of the limited amount of "dry land" you have - so far I haven't fallen overboard yet. Although - have to admit that I jumped once. We were filling up the fuel tank at the end of our charter in Guadeloupe, and I used the time to get the lines ready. At the captain's office they had given me two cards - one for the toilets, which was free, and one for the electricity, which was € 40. Well, I had stuck them in my breast pocket, and when I bent over to fix a line they both went. With € 40 on the line I jumped after them and saved one - you can guess which one. I still get taunted by my better half for the fantastic save...
