Kemah, TX

Hey forum! I'm just zipping all over the U.S.A. this month. Right now I'm on a bus from Las Vegas to Houston, TX. I'll be staying with a friend on the Bay between Houston and the Gulf in Kemah, TX. I may stick around for a few months and I'm eager to see what's going on in the sailing community there. I'd like to hop on more than a few races and cruises if possible. What's happening in S.E. Houston!?

Re: Kemah, TX

Loads of sailing opportunities there. One of the largest concentrations of boats on the planet. Some great food too (recommended authentic combo: Shiner Bock & BBQ). If you are around long enough look into the "Harvest Moon Regatta" in October.

Also, drop in and say "hi" to the ELISSA for me in Galveston. She's a fully restored barque rigged ship built in 1877.

Re: Kemah, TX

Kemah is where the boats are. Check out Galveston Bay Cruisers Association. There are Wednesday night races every week. Go hang out a Vila Capri to meet some racers on Wednesday night.
