I have no power source other than shore power and engine alternator. Solar panels would be a great addition and allow me to stay away from the dock for longer periods.

Looking to ad some oomph to my system so I can run some luxuries, ie refrigeration. It's on my short list and would be happy to give feedback.

SunPower 110W Solar Panel 12V - e Marine Systems
https://www.emarineinc.com/SunPower-...olar-Panel-12V

I have upgraded to LiFePo4 batteries and this solar set is exactly what i need to add to my boat for charging. Sunpower is the best when it comes to these panels.

Re: E-MARINE GIVEAWAY

I'd really really really love the flexible solar panel setup because we can always 'use' a little a little more sunshine in our lives :-)

A friend has one from you and loves it.

First off, THANK YOU E-Marine for sponsoring this forum. It is MUCH appreciated!!
My Newport 33 is fully electric, motor and and all. This battery will be a welcomed addition to the spare bank I am putting together.
Thank you again!

I have a 1980 Cabo Rico that I am planning to upgrade the electrical system to include a new charger and an inverter. This would fit nicely into that plan.

Thumbs up Re: E-MARINE GIVEAWAY

Definitely the solar array https://www.emarineinc.com/SunPower-...olar-Panel-12V

I recently replaced my start battery with an Optima. I recently installed a Victron inverter/charger. Now - I would like to add some solar power since I believe it works better under sail than a wind generator or one of those fish lure drag-behind generators - and besides, the Victron controller will go with my new Victron inverter/charger.

The addition of this solar panel package to my sailboat would provide a badly needed increase in available DC power to run larger appliances such as the refrigerator while making longer offshore passages.

We have installed a solar system on our sailboat which has made cruising much more comfortable. The fridge and lighting power requirements are easily handled by this addition. I am looking forward to upgrading our smaller sailboat as well.

Re: E-MARINE GIVEAWAY

As a family of 5 with three young boys into our second year of liveaboard status in the PNW, I’ve been doing refits and updates to our 45-year old ketch we call “home” and made the decision to isolate our starter batteries from our house batteries to simplify cable runs and prove that it can be done.

Currently we use 3 Firefly G31 batteries for the house bank and 2 more to the engine bank, but we’ve been looking for a reliable solution to keep the starting batteries topped up when we don’t run the engine except for short runs. A flexible solar panel set and charge controller would do just the trick, I think, and we’d love the chance to try it and post out about the setup to our video blog.

Re: E-MARINE GIVEAWAY

I've been working towards making the electrical system on my boat more modern, and not having to rely on shore power or diesel for battery recharging. A quality solar setup would greatly set this forward while saving some of my funds for other upgrades and ultimately accelerating my ability to go on longer cruises!
