Victron Energy Inverter

I am thinking of buying a Victron energy 3000 watt charger/ inverter. The main reason is that it can be used with a genset for startup loads so that you can get by with a smaller generator. Has anyone bought on of these units. Any idea of cost for the unit?

I have a freind with a large launch a couple of births along from mine, that has just installed one a few months back. So far he seems very impressed with what it can do and how it does it. Sorry I can't help with price, but they cost a fortune here in NZ. But then everything does here.

A friend of mine in South Africa has this unit on his Leopard 46 and swears blind by it. Personally I am looking for alternatives because I dont seem to have the type personality the agents for these units here enjoy ??? (After providing me with a price of R 20,000.00 one Saturday morning, they decided to rather charge me R 30,000.00 by Monday afternoon. Having had said that, I must admit that the Victron unit does seem to be a great one and is stackable (you can add units to the original for more output). My friend runs EVERYTHING through his house banks and Im NOT convinced it's the way to go ???? I still have to make the purchase and STILL am pondering over this.
