Ah, the fuse from another thread I think ;-)

Here you can see another thing I like: the right terminal & lug on the fuse holder have already been coated with a corrosion inhibitor, making it look a bit like gold ;-) I use that on all connections, incl. the battery terminals.
I now see that temporary thin cable on the battery (it's white) so this photo is actually taken before the ones without the fuse.... what's happening?? ;-)

ciao!
Nick.

(SOUND OF HAND SLAPPING FOREHEAD)
Sometimes, a good night's sleep solves the most challenging issues. Resolving the two competing solutions, solid bar versus flexible cable, I went online to find the following: Cable Lugs | Copper Tube Lug Connectors - Remy Battery. Now, I have my answer to taming the Anaconda of copper cable that was about to live in my battery box.

Good for you, Roy!
In over 40 years in the marine & electrical industries, including 10 years managing an electrical wholesale supply distributorship, I don't recal seeing those "bent" lugs.

Thank you Gord. I took the printout to my local marine supply that services "real world" needs of marine professionals (San Diego Marine Exchange), and they said the same thing. I found some of these, several years ago, in a salvage store, then immediatly forgot where I put them. I hope this helps some others in the forum to achieve solutions to challenging installations.

I like a hole in the lug in such a way that once crimped I can fill the void with solder and solder the end of the flex cable to the lug. I know some CF members do not like to solder. I do that for myself and on request. For ordinary customer I do not bother.
