charging 48v in blue water

what is the best way to charge house batteries out on the water? i have been being convinced that 48v is the best way to go, so if i wanted to charge say 1kwh/day without a generator how should i do it?
my thoughts are 2x200amp alternators on the 4.107
maybe solar
maybe wind gennie
hand operated 200 amp alt

In most people the leg muscles are more powerful than the arms muscles, so you might consider installing one of those stationary bikes geared to the alternator in your boat. In his day, Lance Armstrong was capable of producing almost 500 watts on the bike, so that if you take enough EPO, HGH, testosterone, insulin, cortisone and blood with you, you might be able to get your 1 KWhr in a couple of hours of pedaling.

(2) 24 volt (36.5 Volt) panels in series. 190 watts X 2 X 5.25 hours of exposure will get you almost 2000 watts.

...and windup with several organ failures, a potential cancer and a heart attack...in the middle of the ocean. Stick with the voltage recommended for your boat. Mauritz

An old thread that probably needs updating.

These days, there are great options such as the Watt&Sea hydrogenerators or, if you're feeling especially flush, an investment in an electric drive with regen capable motor can get you 1-2Kw per day of free energy.

Combine this with the new Lithium batteries, a good wind generator and efficient solar and you've effectively got energy sovereignty! No more diesel refills- you're free!
