Volunteer, experienced, Bahamas to T&C

We have one position open immediately and until the start of December. This is a family friendly boat, couple or person with child/children are welcome providing you fit in one cabin (double bed plus single berth if needed.)

We are currently in the Central Bahamas island hopping down the the T&C, PR, USVI and beyond.

The ship is a comfortable Shuttleworth 44 catamaran, well maintained, beautiful and sound inside and out and well equipped (Radar, AIS, etc), plenty of safety equipment (and an ice maker).

This isn't a fast delivery, we will enjoying the islands The idea is to have fun and follow appropriate weather windows and current/wind direction.

Taunya, the master, is liberal in mindset and has her 16 and 9 year old daughters with me. Unfortunately I, Rusty, have to stay home and work (we'll be starting our real cruising life when I retires in 3 years.) Taunya has have been building up experience over the last few years, including taking an incredibly intensive course through Sea Semester that included 4 weeks on the water in passage from St. Croix to Bermuda and Bermuda to NYC on a 135' Brigantine tall ship. During that time she covered approximately ASA 101 - 108 with a mate hanging over her shoulder and giving her advice on how to improve her skills. There is another experienced crew member currently on board, who has considerable experience with diesels and boat systems, but we would like a third to share the load and fun.

So we're looking for someone with plenty of experience, preferably offshore passages, that would like to join us. Perhaps you sold the boat for financial reasons, or maybe you retired from cruising but miss it and would love to take another journey.

Would you be interested in coming along for this leg of the voyage? Tell us about your experience? Please feel free to contact me directly at rgesner at gmail dot com.
