Crew, looking for boat!

I would like to go as crew on either a sail boat or power boat. Power boat for a long cruise, to get more experience in navigation and, honestly, as a way to be on a boat without paying for my own fuel. Sail boat for any amount of time because I'd just love to learn something about sailing.

I am in Charleston about every other weekend. I've been a power boater for several years, but want to learn about sailing. A day trip or even just a coupla hours in the bay would be a good start. I could also take a week off with a little notice and might be up for a longer trip as well. I would prefer a trip that began/ended at the same point so I don't have to pay for plane trips. If it was a delivery and all I had to pay for was a plane ticket, I might be up for that too, but I don't imagine a delivery captain would want an inexperienced crew member.

I DO have experience on power boats, navigation (paper and electronic), etc. In other words, I already know about boating etiquette and why there can only be ONE captain. I am easy to get along with, don't drink (but don't mind if others do). I have never been sea-sick (but I'm sure there's always a first)!

I've been on two 2-week 1000 mile trips on my own boats (Intracoastal), but I've never been offshore, except on the Gulf about 75 miles while running from Big Pine Key to the Okeechobee Waterway.

I'm a quick learner and I also have a varied background that means, while I may not be familiar with something in particular, I usually have experience in something similar to use as a reference point. Some of my jobs? Mechanic (small and large engines), waterproofing, photography, computers, truck driver. I can cook a little, and I don't mind cleaning up.

If you have a motor yacht delivery and want someone with some experience for a 1-2 week trip, I would be up for that as well, as long as it is expense paid (or at least, mostly paid).
