I think the good tablemanners clause is a fine filter. See above.

Wish I had known you were looking for someone to show you the ropes of sailing - I was sitting in Marina Real for several months doing boat chores filling in the time before I had to leave to take care of my (96 year old) father. Ask S/V Pegasus if I did any good for them... Altho I do charge a beer an hour for on-the-water training...
Hauled out at Marina Seca Guaymas for the summer, but will probably be back for the first hurricane to pass nearby.
As for table manners - I did pass muster many times at High Table at my college in Oxford...

Someone to show you the ropes?

Reminds me of that song Someone yo Watch over me. I can hear linda ronstadt singing it now. Does it matter if the someone is female? How long can I stay?

Ferro,

You have great taste in cats.

Another Snowshoe afficionado,

The grand plan, but not this year, is to sail across the Specific and out the other side to South East Asia. But first things first. Like learning how to sail.
Must have made the blog gods mad! Clicked on the link and nothing was there! Always interested in a good sense of humor! Good luck with your quest

I am not a sailor yet, just wanting to learn, but reading this thread gives me hope that at least there are folks with a good sense of humor out there to learn from. I agree on the table manners too, all manners are important but the table is a special place. I consider myself quite a good cook so food should be respected. Anyway, perhaps one day I will have the skills to assist you, but for now all I have is time and a willingness to learn. Hope to meet you one day though, you do sound like a fun person to run with. Take care and be safe.
