For Sale: Corsair F-27 Trimaran

Ready to sail, ready to trailer.

This fast cruising trimaran has every option ever invented for cruising.

Located in Massachusetts, but I can deliver it anywhere on the East Coast when I travel to Florida in February.

I have a very large web site with every possible detail about the boat and many photos.

See it all at For Sale - 1993 Corsair F-27 Ultimate Cruiser

The boat is still for sale. It just had new bottom paint and all of the scratches and dings fixed, as well as a good exterior cleaning.

I know this might sound strange, but do you know the height, width, and overall length of it on a trailer? Tropical shipping charges by the cubic foot...

On the trailer, the height in about 11 foot 6 inches (the folded beams stick up in the air). The width is 8 foot 2 inches. I don't know the exact length, but I think it is around 29 feet to the end of the trailer tongue. However, the mast (which sits 9 feet off the ground) sticks out the front and the back. The mast length is 37 feet.

Hmm...that's about what our 25 foot Contender was, two inches wider. The mast is a foot longer than the Contender on it's trailer. I know what it cost us to get that shipped down here last November.

Would you think a husband/wife team could sail that down the Bahamas to the southern end? Drop the hook and camp sometimes, check into a nice room when one's available? No schedule to keep?

Hey, is that Mass Maritime in the background on that pix? I lived in Falmouth and Sandwich for many years. Worked for a Falmouth undersea acoustics company. Still have two sons there.

We do live close to Mass Maritime.

My wife and I have spent many nights at anchor, and have gone on several 10 day outings on the boat and lots of shorter multi-day trips. We have never felt a need to get a hotel room. I know of a couple who spend 3 months every year on a F-27 in Florida. I could not go that long without a bit of shore time. I think that everyone's needs are different, but I think your plan would work.

We were planning on taking the F-27 to the Bahamas this Winter, but buying a F-31 got in the way. We will be taking the F-31 to the Bahamas next Winter. I do not expect to need a hotel room.
