1980 Formosa SeaGull

I have purchased my next size up boat and am putting CELERITY up for sale.

$10,500.00US

1980 Formosa Sea Gull.

She has solid decks under the teak. That means no core.

She is 90% done a refinish. If you took two weeks vacation, and a few grand, you'd be done. I stopped as I have my new to me boat.

3 coats of bottom coat and ready for paint.

Engine is winterized. Has a new starter. Volvo MD2C.

new foam for cushions. Original covers on board, either cover or make new, they are worn but servicable.

New plastic headliner and wall covering throughout.

New Force 10 Gas stove, needs to be installed.

Cruise Air - needs control panel mounted.

Rebuilt forward hatch, many other items redone with lots of epoxy.

Ketch rigged with main, mizzen, working jib, two genoas and Assym spinnaker.

Lot's of other items on board.

At Herrington Harbor North Row M on the hard.

I am down there once a week working on my other boat so daytime meetings are possible.

I have had her for three years and sad to see her go but we needed a a boat for the World Arc and she is just not large enough.

formosa sea gull, a 35 ft lil cute cruiser. lil because it is not huge. not big. 35 ft . garden design. good lil cruisers. perfect for 1 or 2 people to cruise. i thought they were quite nice inside. i saw and inspected one in fiddlers cove, san diego, cali.
is not a racer. it is not a ship.
it is a good lil cruiser. is 4.5 ft draft. solid, is a lil cruiser. have fun. if you like it buy it. i thought they were wonderful inside, and a sweet size.
i have a 41, which is a bigger cruiser. also garden designed. also perfect for 1 or 2 people to cruise. not a racer by any stretch.
ct 54 is a ship designed by perry. is palacial.

thank you , I am quite falliar with W Garden boats , and was not shure that a boat with this spec was ever made by Garden , as I could not located this type anywhere , affiliated with his name or the famosa make .
If it is a Garden design , then i am defenetly interested , please send me a private message then we can carry on there .

Re: 1980 Formosa SeaGull

formosa is a well respected trade winds cruiser.
garden designed many styles of boats.
formosa is a heavy cruiser.
go see it and sail it and see what you think about it
i like the way they sail. many donot , as they seek a racer instead of cruiser.
if you enjoy comfort under sail, gardens formosas are awesome.
not all formosas are garden designs. some , the 46, are peterson designed.
i donot know which yard in taiwan built the 35. prolly not formosa boat builders, but ta chiao or other.... many yards were used after the one big one burned down. i am trying to put together the history, but there isnt much on the big manufacturing yard fire.
formosas --ye either love em or ye dont. not much middle ground

THAT is a very nice looking live aboard .. if you are just starting out and don't plan to spend most of your time ine between Cooks island and Australia it would be a very economical boat and quite comfortable !!
