send NMEA with plugin

Dear Community,

I've been developing a simple pluign, which receives NMEA data, displays these and should be able to send some other data over the same serial port back.

I am using VS2013 on a Windows 7. OpenCPN Version is 4.4.0. OpenCPN Plugin version I am using is ocpn_plugin_19.

Now, with the first part I didnt have much problems. At least it is working now

The second part, sending NMEA data over the same serial port, seems to be somewhat more complicated.

I've come untill

PushNMEABuffer(wxString)

But as far I get the information in the NMEA Debug window this only sends the string to a virtual NMEA Port.

I've tried google and used the search in this forum about this topic, but I haven't found anything useful.

The question I have is:
How do I get the plugin to send data over the serial port and not only to the virtual port? Is there an easy way? Something like PushNMEABuffer

The debug window is telling you that the sentence is coming from a virtual port.
Just make sure the port settings in your connections tab do send this particular sentece, and it will be send.

That was all. I tried that but wasn't able to suppress the repeater output.

I had to add to the IDs which shouldn't be sent, all the incoming IDs and now it works just fine.

Finally, I got it all the way I want it.
