Dave: what I can tell you is that at present I am testing 2.4.x on two Win7 machines with 1600x1200 screens and two XP machines with 1680x1080 machines. For kicks, I will also test on the thinkpad laptops I usually carry aboard and report back. I even have a new machine with an SSD drive, I suspect we'll see no problem there. What I don't get is how the drive the maps are on makes a difference if the outlines are cached locally...
sailias: I appreciate your concern, but as I said, the network drive is used by many other application and works as designed, i.e. it exceeds the speed of most internal drives.
