Your Thailand track consists of 4 segments and - as an example - I have edited it to set a different colour to each segment. You are right, that with a single colour it may get very confusing. I attach the edited file for easy comparison.

Of course, the effort of hand editing GPX files is worthwhile only for important tracks, that you will be using over and over again. With a good text editor it is not so difficult...

Following on from this thread and a request of mine to set the colours for tracks/routes - where would you insert the "<sym>xmred</sym>" phrase in the following example portion of a route file to change the default blue to red?

This method works only for GPX tracks, not for routes. If you change the <sym> in a route, a different icon may be used for waypoints, but not the line color. A route will always come in blue.
