That is a box developed for storage of half consumed beers. The holes allow for spillage to drain out into the bilge... I think DOJ was first with this innovation. It's simple really, and prevents accumulation of containers throughout the vessel.

The interior dimensions are 14" x 10" x 6" (36 x 25 x 15 cm).
The holes in the bottom are 1.5" in diameter, 10.5" and 7.25" apart O.C., and offset by one inch.
The holes in the sides are 0.5" in diameter, and 3.5" above the bottom.
All the edges are well rounded. A lot of work went into this Thing.

Yes it is in the same area, and would probably work for each of YOU, as described, IT IS 12 INCHES BY 6 INCHES.
