standard horizon wind display

I have a standard horizon WS100 wind/speed display. The display head is freezing up. Can I replace the display with a Raymarine ST 60 display? It's the same size/shape. Keep the existing hardware that is up the mast?
I was successful in swapping the depth display, they use the same frequency. Hope to get lucky again.
Raymarine tech support was useless.

Re: standard horizon wind display

I am afraid that you are out of luck on that one, mate... not likely to be compatible like the d/s.

The "freezing" that you are encountering is very common with those instruments... some sort of software glitch (that they deny ever happens). But, all it takes to recover is a momentary interruption of the 12 volt supply to the instrument head. If you want easy access to this operation, you could put a small toggle or pushbutton switch on your instrumnet panel to cycle the power off and back on. A small PITA...

Cheers,

Jim
