1 in the fixed radio
1 independent gps on the seatalk bus
1 in the hand held radio
1 handheld gps
1 hockypuck gps usb gps for plugging into a computer
3 gps' in cameras
3 gps' in computers/tablets

I also have a Spot which I can use to determine my position if I also have access to the internet. We also have two basic phones with GPS' in them on which you can download an app for navigation, but we have not done so since we have so many already. If we count these three I guess I'm up to 16.

I knew when I look at my Garmin handheld (with the expensive database) and think "hell, I don't need that" I know I have triple refundancy already.

Lol, funny didn't look wrong after spellchecker fixed it. I'm typing on one of my GPS's, it does all kinds of funny things. The best is the directions thru the worst part of town. The areas where you keeping locking the doors.

If I take the family, lots. If I'm alone, one, if I turn it on. If I take a smaller boat, none.

Obviously, I began sailing pre-GPS, so I don't get to interested in it.

Last major cruise: Boat Raymarine, all charts not up to date, handheld garmin, iPhone and iPad with Garmin maps. Epirb.

Chartering: I typically bring my iPhone with Garmin app in addition to boat system.

I recently purchased an InReach, but more for hiking than boating.

When I started cruising I had just charts and a compass and I think an old Loran that I never used.

I just found 4 more. I forgot the life jacket AIS beacons have GPS. So that's 15.
