hey kind of off the topic ...........does anyone try to connect a raymarine radar dome to a lowrance system

Not going to happen - the scanner and display are simply not compatible.

The R10X series were made by JRC some time ago. In most cases, when BP errors occur, you should check the read switch that is found glued to the main drive gear. Every time the magnet sweeps over the switch, it closes the relay which sends the BP to the display. Sometimes that glued in magnet falls out.

Also check the plugs and all connections.

Soudns like you got it running again which is good.

We still support that scanner with some parts since it was also out R1000, 1500 series.
