JMA 3303 RADAR

Old unit stopped working. Has been really good until it stopped. Went away for 6weeks & there has been bad weather here. Any tech who has worked/ know this unit like to help me. All my contacts in the tech field has long departed & I feel like the last one of my batch!! I now know no one still around anymore!! The CRT has no sign of anything on screen. I suspect the TX has failed but not sure why I cannot see range rings & a bit of noise. Does this unit rely on RX pulses to allow a display to be seen on the CRT?

Any tech helpers out there??

I feel for you. I have an old JMA 2011 that kind of works but has excessive noise and information on these old units is just about non existent. I'm biting the bullet and will be ripping it out to replace with a broadband system shortly.

The trouble with new unit is you cannot repair it your self. This unit has been so good & I know I should be able to get it going but if a unit can be got I would be happy. Every old boat for sale seems to have one!! If you hear of any please let me know. I can't find where all the storm damaged boats over the past few years are resting !! (The manual I have says to check the gears in the scanner every 6 mths)
