Cetrek Autopilot

I have a Cetrek 727 autopilot. The pilot did not respond when when we commissioned the boat this month. I found a bad 250 mA fuse in the control head and a good bit of corrosion on the fuse holder. Cleaned up the corrosion, but can't seem to locate a source for the small 250mA fuse. Best I can find is a 315mA fuse. Can't contact Cetrek, they are long gone and no one gives any support. The question: do I risk using the 315mA fuse in place of the 250mA or is this asking for trouble?

Cetrek Fuse

Chuck,
Thanks for the tip of Graingers for fuses. I was just going to ask if you know how to translate mm to inches, then I realizes I can just google it, duh!
Thanks again.

Your 250 mA fuse broken can be replacing by a new one of 315 mA... if this one IS AN
INSTANT fuse (250 mA was probably a temporised fuse .
In an other hand, if a severe short circuit was the cause of broke, a 315 mA will do the same ... otherwise you will can explore an other cause of trouble ...

Re: Cetrek Autopilot

Hi 2D Magic

I also have a 727 autopilot with a blown fuse. Do you still have yours? Do you want to sell it to me? I was thinking I could use the good bits from both units to make one going unit.

Thanks
Michael

Re: Cetrek Autopilot

Hello Michael,

You think I had a 727, mine is a 701 (very old)

and This is not the same technology as your 727.

Sorry, hope you find your solution for ...

But the same answer is right for fuse replacement ...

Regards
