Best VHF antenna for masthead mount

I just purchased a new horizon GX1700 VHF for the Bristol. I liked it for the price and the integrated GPS. I now looking to replace the masthead mounted antenna. There are several mfg's to choose from: Shakespeare, Metz, Tram, Gem, Digital. I am familial with the Shakespeare but have no experience with the other mfg's. Is there any one mfg that is better than than the others based on construction or performance?

If you are not too concerned about the additional weight (a few ounces, IIRC) then the Digital is quite good. The body is completely encapsulated in epoxy and the antenna is robust with a simple spring-bayonet attachment. The materials are also good, no corrosion issues on any of the metal parts on the one I have. I believe Practical Sailor selected the Digital as their 'best choice' a few years ago when they did a comparison.

I've had one on Argyle for about six years with no issues.
