Autohelm 100 computer

Hi

Previous owner had encountered electrical storm and apparently had some damage done to the AutoHelm ST7000 with a Computer 100.

I found a spare Computer 100 onboard, swapped it with the old one as per the way it was wired.

Display head ST7000 was saying ST Fail with older Computer 100

Now with swapped unit, the display head says Low Battery when I switch it from Standby to Auto? checked all the wiring seems ok. Could it be a power wiring issue between the computer 100 and the display head?

Any 1 has a spare computer 100 and ST7000 or higher for sale?

Cheers
Will

Sounds like a bad connection or something causing voltage drop, bypass some of wiring by connecting direct to battery, read through northoceanbeach tiller pilot low voltage and systematically go through your wiring, im not saying you will have same problem but proceedure is same

Re: Autohelm 100 computer

you probably need a st 6000 control head to work with the older type 100 computer which does not have seatalk,or any of the st7000 upgrades

Lightning can damage wiring especially the negative common wires. Check the connections. An easy way to check would be to turn all lighting on rattle and check wiring and see if lights flicker or change. I am assuming the autopilot modules are compatible. A low voltage alarm does not tell me there is any problem with the autopilot.
