I can't imagine why a real cruiser would even care what day it is, but I think that clock is funny. Are you serious ?

Dead serious:

I ordered one as I am still a working stiff.

I have to deal with rivers and currents and days and dates to get back to work.

That being said:

Many a times I have been sitting for anchor in the Exumas a week or two after I lost touch with reality wondering what day of the week it is.

This clock seems to solve the problem

I love that clock, DH! Can you provide a link to where you ordered it? Or, if necessary, can you PM the information to me?

Thanks.

I need one of those. I never can remember what day it is. Mind you it might make me feel guilty drinking on Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs......then again I don't think so.

Can you tell me why any "real cruiser" needs a day clock???

Some places don't sell liquor on Sunday, so you need to stock up early. If you don't know what day it is, you could dinghy all the way to town and come up dry.

Seems like it might make it worse. Have you considered the add on "Month Clock" too. Those weeks can sneek up on you. Be a serious disaster to get back a month too early.

You can always tell the time by looking at the sky close enough and be within an hour or so. But there just is no real dependable way to know the day of the week.

I need one of those. I am still in the Middle East where Friday is like Sunday ,Sunday is like Monday and Saturday is still Saturday. I never know what day it is. But I will be back at my boat in two weeks and all will be right with the world.

Does anyone know if this clock handles leap days?

Let's see:

"Seven days in week 1,
and all 'till 52;
Except sometimes I lose a day,
from bein' drunk a time or two.

What about a year clock? I just found out it's already 2007!! And I thought the millennium was just a couple of years ago.

If you manage the days, the years will take care of themselves.

I've got a "vacation watch" that I break out when I'm planning to loose track of time. An old Timex LED watch that shows NOTHING unless you make the effort of using two hands, one to raise the wrist, the other to press the display button. And then you need to buy it two batteries every year or so also.<G>
