Saildrive issue

Our Bavaria 42C 2007 have a Volvo d2-55E with S130 saildrive, lately the transmission started to act out, when put in forward gear no reaction after a few back to neutral back in forward gear it will eventually operate, but when in tight quarters, dock and/or boats around us not a very good feeling. I've read about a possible bulletin from Volvo about the oil to be used for those, I am currently using Dextron as required in the book that came with the boat. Also possible clutch issue with those. If anyone is aware please let me know, we are tired of second guessing our outing being in a fairly active marina.
