Repair fiberglass inside boat

I have a step below in my Irwin 43,the riser part of the step has a hole about the size of a fist. I want to repair this myself but need advise on how to start. If anyone has done anything like this, any advise would be great.

Welcome to Cruisers Forum.
Fiberglass repair is easier than most people think. I would start with West System website. They describe number of projects.
Fiberglass Boat Repair and Restoration
There is also a nice Chuck Hawley's video on West Marine website.
The West Advisor: Epoxy Systems

Re: Repair fiberglass inside boat

Why is there a hole there? Did someone put it there to get access to something? If so you might need access again so just install a deck plate. If you don't need access, Misiu gave you some good links for fiberglass repair.

Re: Repair fiberglass inside boat

The step below takes you through to the forward cabin the damage was there when I bought the boat .It looks like someone got mad and kicked or hit the step . There is nothing behind the step so a proper repair is needed. I am following up with Misiu
Thanks you guys
