Corinthian

One who is from Corinth

extreme good sportmanship.

The one thing I've always loved about sailing is the Corinthian Spirit. It seems to be dying these days but if you have a tale of your own Corinthian spirit I would love to hear it.

I met a couple cruising in Brindisi, Italy. They had been thru a very rough passage. Their depth sounder was not working right. Paddy and I spent 4 hours tracing wires and trying different fixes till we were able to repair the depth sounder. There was no question of pay but they invited me over for lunch -- a simple salad, pasta with smoked salmon. She was Italian he was English/Canadian. they had a strong argument in Italian. It turned out they were arguing about what wall thickness their penne pasta should have been to make the meal exactly right. It is a very fond memory. I couldn't have bought a memory like that.

Re: Corinthian

Fried an alternator in the Sea of Abaco last year. Within 2hrs. I was offered two alternators by other cruisers.
