Marine supply sales - typical times

Are there routine times of the year marine suppliers, West Marine/Defender etc., have sales? Black Friday, I saw reference to a big March sale for Defender - those types of events I'm curiousabout. Typing to determine if there are key events to stock on of all the fun new toys I get to buy!

Post the vendor and the event if you think of any please.

West Marine always has a paint sale in the Spring, just call your local store for the dates. It might be on the website too. Same thing for all the other retailers, they might not publish the dates to keep everyone from waiting till then, but they'll probably tell you if you call.

The Marine Supply Sales are always during boat shows.

You don't have to wait for a sale. If you're going to make a big purchase, call around and ask for quotes. Try some of the independent dealers. They can be more flexible than the chains.

Defender has the Warehouse sale in March They also typically do sales during Newport and Annapolis they also used to do one during Miami not sure if they still do.
Hamilton Marine used to do a spring sale in March too.

If your buying alot of stuff Defender used to have an outfitting service where a special rep would put everything together with you I would ask I assume they still offer this.

As said you can also do price matching or just see what some of the smaller guys out there will do as well.

Back in the day when I worked for a boatyard we had several wholesale accounts that required minimum orders to keep our discounts active, come November I would put together deals for discounted service to keep guys busy during the winter and discounted parts to keep our discounts. ( for example I once had to make a drive to pickup a pallet of batteries that we deeply discounted to keep our discount with a supplier. )
