Wireless Solar Alarm system

Hi there,

I installed one of these a few years back on my House. Was extremely simple.
The "Alarm" unit was Solar powered (could be placed on mast somewhere).

The keypad + sensors were all wireless as well so you just stick those little micro sensors to doors and when they open the circuit is broken.

Just wondering if anyone uses something like this on their boats? I haven't seen too many alarm systems out there and was wondering why not?
