I had thought of that, too. I was going to just sling a bike-type cable around horizontally and padlock it in port.

Aft rail...or side rails outboard, clearing the deck area.....the raft then falls to the sea immediately.

I know this is an old thread but did you just mount it to the stanchions or is it also bolted thru the deck below them?
