Guides for Mexican East Coast

I have been looking for cruising guides to the east coast of mexico, north of isla mujeres. does such a beast exist, or is it so not worth sailing there that there are no guides?

I am not sure yet but its an easy run from the Bahams to Isla Mujeres via Cuba so the route is on the potential list, but in searching for guides to the area I noticed there were none for the northern part.

I don't know of any guides, but I lived in Veracruz for a year. Tuxpam is decent and you can pull up in the river in the center of town (it's where Castro left out of for the invasion). South of there is Zimora which is a beach town, but mainly it's only about 30 minutes by bus to a nearly fully intact maya city. Then there is crazy caving and mountain climbing in Paplantla. Continuing south you pass the Laguna Verde Nuclear Power plant and the adjacent town of Villa Rica. Good food, friendly people, and nice beach (it's where Cortez landed to invade Mexico). A couple hours south of this is the city of Veracruz which can best be described as Mexican New Orleans. It's worth spending a few days in and there is both a Marina (not sure how many) as well as tie up space at the port which abuts the city centre. Below that is the yucatan and it can get pretty dicy until you get toward the tourist areas of Cancun and Cozumel.
