Lewmar Windlass Deck Foot Switch Replacements

Hello. I need to replace my deck mounted windlass foot switches for a Lewmar 2000 vertical windlass (Probably a 1990 model). I ordered some Maxwell switches from Defender, but these have electrical wire posts. My foot switches have a simple "air" tube that sends the signal to the windlass. What are these types called and where can I find them?

Thanks,

Matt

They're called "Pneumatic" foot switches.

Re: Lewmar Windlass Deck Foot Switch Replacements

So the pneumatic style switches are no longer available, no surprise with a 25 year old windlass. Anyone know if I can use the newer switches with wire leads to connect to the control box/solenoids even though the original setup was pneumatic? Would it require a new control box?

Thanks, Matt

Matt

They use Pneumatic type foot switches in spa pools to turn on the spa blower . You could get a remote control like i have fitted on mine , or you can use the wire in type .These should be able to wire into the original control box.

Not sure how the link will go.

Thanks for the input. I will look into the spa switches. That remote looks pretty darn cool too!
