Installing a mooring in Montreal

Hi,

I intend to install in the bay of Lac des deux Montagnes, Saint-Placide, Canada, a permanent mooring for my Catalina 250. The depth of the lake is usually 6 feet with a maximum of 9 feet. The winds maximal velocity for the historic period of 20 years are at 69 km, and maximum burst at 109 km/h. I intend to fix the mooring in silt with 3 helix galvanised rods 58 inch long and with a screw blade of 6 inches.

I have read that for a 30 feet boat University of Massachusetts Boston, Urban Harbors Institute Publications Urban Harbors Institute Conservation Mooring Study propose:

Conservation Mooring installations would be about the price of conventional mooring installations, with the advantage that they are less impacting for the environment and more durable or permanent.

For example, boatmooring propose Eco‐Mooring System: 1 in. dia. Eco Mooring rode rated at 21,000 lbs breaking load, chain, swivel, shackles,
sized accordingly, 18 in. Carolina buoy, 3/4 in. dia. pendant, rated at 21,500 lbs.

There are also other eco-friendly sytems:
StormSoft
Hazelett
Seaflex

Do you have some experience with such type of installation? Could you give some commentaries on your experience?
