Servicing Lewmar 48 electric winch

I have two electric Lewmar 48 winches (not sure if they are Ocean or Evo but suspect Ocean). The electric motor on the main winch has stopped driving the winch - motor and shafts turn fine but the driven gear is not turning. I am trying to disassemble the winch but cannot get that gear assembly out of the housing. I cannot find anything online references nig disassembly of the electric winch. Hoping I do not have to drop the motor each time. Anyone have any info on how to disassemble these units?

See if this helps any.

Basically the three flat head mounting screws you see in the base are short and just going into the elevated base that houses the motor gears. Remove those three screws and the winch comes off exposing the gear cluster that is driven by the motor. Pretty simple in reality.
