Pulling masts on Whitby 42 Ketch Need Info

Hey, Have any of you guys or gals out there pulled the mainmast or know someone that has pulled the mainmast on a Whitby 42" ketch. I must pull mine but cannot see the step. Does anyone know if there are any sort of retainer or fasteners at the base of the mast.

I can't comment on your Whitby, but on mine, I didn't see any fasteners around the base of the main mast when I looked at it, but I suppose anyone could put them in if they wanted to!
