Mainsail Replacement

I intend to replace my main and Lee Sails have the best price. Anyone have any experience with this loft? Thanks.

you might also take the temperature at Rolly Tasker sails in Thailand. Last time I got a quote, they came in lower than Lee and delivered a quality product.

Try a quote from Hendricksonsailmakers.com, a local shop in NJ. I'm having an asymmetrical made and prices were slightly better than online. They also do an awesome cleaning job on sails.

I have Lee sails on my 36. They came new with the boat so I cannot justify replacing them, yet. They are cheap, you get what you pay for.

Lee sails: if they would just offer a higher quality sails in addition to their current offerings, it would be nice.

I've seen many sails (mostly jibs though) from Lee and think they all look a bit rough. Not all owners are happy with them but their service is good. A friend ordered a jib and when the sail came the luff was way too short. Lee sails acknowledged the problem and sent another, correctly sized jib. He could keep the first one!

We found that many lofts offer great prices for sails ordered in the off-season. We were surprised by the good pricing from Elvstrom-Sobstad and they make top quality sails. Their price was much better than Doyle.

cheers,
Nick.

It really depends on what you are going to do and what wind you will sail. I cruise on the west coast of B.C., winds are usually moderate. The Lee sails work but will not win any races. The other boat sails on a lake in southern Alberta, big winds! The Lee sails did not last one summer, even with 3 reefs!

My Rolly Tasker main is the best made sail I have ever owned and it was 2/3 the price of a US made sail

Check with National Sail Supply and get a quote on a Rolly Tasker sail.
Great quality and a good price.
