Jabsco Electric Head

I'm in the market for an electric head. West Marine is having a sale on Jabsco's. Anyone have input on these units?..Thanks

I have 2 fresh water electrics on board and they have been trouble free in live aboard operation for 5 years now. Once in a while someone will throw something in there that does not belong... (like female stuff) which will jam the macerator. Not too hard to clean out though. The nice thing about fresh water is there is no smell problems.

Because my wife has arthritus in her hands and wrists and pumping a head can be problematical, we have a Jabsco raw water macerator pump on one of the two heads on our boat. With routine maintenance the unit works well. It does pump rather a lot of water, however, and frequent use will fill a holding tank pretty quickly.

Just threw one away... but mostly due to neglect...i think they are pretty much the std in electrics. keep some spare parts, but you do that with any head.... these are just a little more expensive!

We have 2 x Jabsco electric heads, with freshwater intakes. They have worked just fine. The ONLY complaint I've had on BOTH of them is that the freshwater solenoiod sticks on occasion, which allows water to continue to flow into the toilets. What really ticks me off is that these silly little solenoids are $100 a pop.
