drh, try PB Blaster (it's WD 40 on steroids). Works wonders on frozen nuts (that sounds odd.)

Hope it helps. I think they make that stuff in Texas. On a totally unrelated note (except that both come in cans), PB Blaster also makes a PTFE-teflon- spray (like McLube or Superlube) at about one-third of what West Marine charges for it. I just bought some (gotta put the genny on). Don't know whether it works, but should be the same stuff. It's just not, "Marine" PTFE.
