Shore Life vs. Boat Life

Hello readers and wanna-be cruisers,

Ever thought about exchanging your hectic life ashore for a cruising life on a sailboat? What does extended living on the water actually entail and how does it compare to life on land? Check out the following comparisons before you make the "plunge"!
Xwaters.com | The Cruising Life: Shore Life vs. Boat Life

And, for many adventures and experiences on board SV Irie, have a look at It's Irie

Welcome to living aboard and learning about/adapting to the cruising life!

I agree. Very good article. I agree that it sure is a whole different life style. A lot of sacrifice on a stable life stile. I think that is why so many people only go for a certain amount of time. The mentality is different because they know they will be going home soon.

Re: Shore Life vs. Boat Life

Yep. People cruising for a season see their trip more as a vacation and relax and spoil themselves more. It's very different from the day to day life on the water, especially when you need to work along the way and fix your own boat problems. We still all keep doing it, though, so the pay off must be worth it! :-)
