bilge pumfittings

I've been advised never to use household plastic ABS fittings on the boat but these compression fittings fit perfectly on my whale pump 1-1/4". I've kept them on for about five years so far and they seem just fine. They are easy to take apart and are more compact in making the sharp turn. Any response is appreciated.

Re: bilge pumfittings

JD-MDR I wonder how you could tell the difference from household or marine plastic? To me they look fine and beat some bilge pump set ups I have seen.
Cheers

Agreed, the bilge hose itself that's often used is also very crappy and prone to splitting as it ages. I have had both the hose and the bilge pump connector fail in 2 years of boat ownership, and PVC kept reasonably new isn't going to be any worse in my opinion.
