Any ideas where I can get some non-standard anchor roller wheels to replace the worn out ones on my boat? The sizes are 4-1/4" long with the flange 3" at the widest point (on the outer edge) with a 3/4" hole and the smaller ones are 3-5/8" long by 2" flange also with a 3/4" hole. I can't find anything on the net that matches anywhere near these sizes....any help would be appreciated before I spend loads to have them custom made...

I used a roller for a boat trailler I picked up at a marine supply store. If you can match the width and the hole it should work fine. The material is not as pliable as a rubber one but it does the same thing.

Boat trailer roller also, I had to cut to length it but that was easy in an power miter box saw. I believe the yellow translucent rollers are the most durable.

Yeah that was the first alternaive I looked at but all the trailer rollers I looked at (West Marine and Boatersworld) had 1/2" holes...not gonna work unfortunately...it is a real quandry....the standard Windline and Seadog ones are not the right size either....

Did your 4 1/4 one swell with age?
Common, I believe.

LOL....no...the ones on there now are pure white and look like some hard crystalline material...I'm not sure what...those are the measurements I got this weekend...they are badly worn by the chain...right down to the SS pin in places so they desperately need replacing.......

They probably started life as grey.

The measurements are what I mean. They are larger now because they swell with (advanced) age.

I don't think your anchor line or chain care much about a quarter inch. The bolt could easily tighten up 1/8th of that I should think.

But I don't own a real boat right now, so what do I know?

If the hole 1/2 is too small you could drill it outto 3/4, you'll only be taking off 1/8th on each side.

You'll want a lot of lubricant, and extremely sharp cutting tool... the durometer of this stuff is real low, so it sticks to the cutter! Wood augers work well for this stuff, just use an oversize bit as the hole will shrink down after its drilled.

Water with a lot of soap is a good lubricant...

(Taking the work hat off now...)

Edit: Does your roller have a metal sleeve in the center, you'll want to keep that... If not make sure the bolt has a smooth shank anywhere it touches the roller, without the sleeve though its not going to roll well if real soft.
