Re: E120

Allow me to be more clear, the transducer installed as a thru hull came with the E120 and the male end of it fits into a ray marine box. Can I cut or reuse the male end to go to a generic wifi box...

So my E120 Raymarine died and I'm ready to go wifi on my iPad, but I want to continue using my Airmar transducer 31 554-3-01. Can I go directly from my transducer through a box ( not my E120 ) to my...

Re: Florida Boaters Unite: defeat HB 955 and SB 1126

God I love this thread. Sooo glad y'all are up there and I'm not. In case you haven't figured this out yet, Florida is where old white people go to die. Best to avoid the place.

Re: Rib dinghies, which is the 'best of the rest'?

When I was shopping I found West Marine had good deals, their RIBs are made by others but have West Marine decals and I think they discount them for the free advertisement.

Re: Who makes West Marine's Fresh Water Pumps?

If he's asking who makes a WM water pump I would think he wants one. As there are several WM stores near him and he can figure out how to use a keyboard, he can ask them.
If he's living on a...

Re: Get ready for new anchoring regulations in Florida

Seems to me the problem could easily be solve if States issued in transit anchoring permits for a reasonable amount and with reasonable restrictions and simply did not allow squatters that do not...

Re: To Polish and Clean Diesel Tank or Not?

In my experience it all depends on where you live. Here in Panama the air temp is always around the same as the water temp so you get no condensation inside your tank and my diesel, 2000 gls, is fine...

Re: Your Experiences with Composting Heads?

I've been an active composter since the old hippy days, and compost piles do not belong on a boat. There is no more perfect compost maker than the ocean, so why try to compete. If you have room on...

Re: How Hard is it to Install a Water Maker?

Pure, distilled water falls from the sky. It's free.
We use about 4000 gallons a year.
Tastes great.

You gotta be pulling my putz, dude. The damn things are a nightmare to install, operate, and maintain.

Now if you happen to be selling those $6000...

Re: Regulator needed between Yamaha Outboard and Battery?

Been years since I've seen an electric starter on a 9.9, seems kind of silly, doesn't it.

Re: How hard is it to install a water maker?

It's a whole lot cheaper to get a 50 to 100 gal tank. Every one I know is constantly fixing their water maker and paying insane amounts per gallon when it does work. In a pinch you can store water on...

Re: provisioning in bocas del toro panama

PC is the place to shop, what you will find elsewhere will come from PC anyway. I would stop at Portobello by the canal, you can safely anchor there for as long as you need and both PC and Colon are...

Re: The Cruiser-Kiter Lifestyle

NOT legal in the San Blas, along with a host of other sports. Good to remember that some sports are not always welcome, so it's good to check first.

Re: Oil level "rising"??

Do not read a dipstick by just pulling it out, they often have a sealing gasket to keep oil from spraying out and you could have a pressure difference in the tube that may give you a false reading....
