Same as above, a match (or more than one) cut off the ignition bit or toothpick. If you like you can add some PVA glue if it's still a bugger to keep them in place.

I looked at a 1989 Jeanneau 42ft. The teak decking put me off as it needed removing. Thanks for the your report, I found it informative.

Windows on the top and side. Check for leaks. If there are signs (quite likely) look at the plywood behind for rot. Everything can be fixed, at a price. This is a nice gig boat with good woodwork.
