Re: Couple with No Sailing Experience Buying Catamaran and In Need of Insurance Advic

What a fantastic attitude! I just had to respond to this post. My partner and I (ages 54 and 52) are in exactly the same situation, struggling to find insurance for an Antares 44. I can't wait to...

Re: Couple with No Sailing Experience Buying Catamaran and In Need of Insurance Advic

May I ask for the contact details of your insurer? My partner and I are in the same boat, so to speak! Thanks.

Re: Used Antares questions

Thanks for the useful clarification, M! Too bad that replacement was just for US flagged vessels.

Re: Used Antares questions

I’m curious, what did you trade your Antares in for and why?

Re: Food preparation for long voyages without refridgeration

Ahhh... this thread is music to my ears. I'm working on creating a meal concept for sailors that doesn't require refrigeration and still maintains nutritional content and taste. It's a real...

Re: Delivery skippers and/or professional crew ratings of 40-50' cruising cats

I'm not suggesting anyone post their answers in a public forum like this. I was inviting structured interviews that would be kept in the strictest confidence if that's what contributors request.

Re: Delivery skippers and/or professional crew ratings of 40-50' cruising cats

Thanks for the input. When you mention PDQ, do you also include the current Antares 44?

Re: Antares 44 or Knysna500SE

Did you end up getting the 1600? It's a gorgeous boat. I'm considering the 1370.

Delivery skippers and/or professional crew ratings of 40-50' cruising cats

I'm in the market for a 40-50' liveaboard cruiser. I've done the desktop research, conducted structured interviews with owners, and would value feedback from professionals who sail for a living. If...

Re: New Seawind Model - Announcement July 10

I agree with the theory of impaired / limited vision with the cockpit level helm position looking through glass, especially when combined with ocean spray. To me, a higher helm position means more...

Re: New Seawind Model - Announcement July 10

Re: New Seawind Model - Announcement July 10

That's a fantastic summary, yoyofella! I've been pricing out and reviewing pros and cons of the Balance and Seawind myself. One big sway factor for me is that, if I made the deposit now on a 1370...

Re: Considering new Seawind 1260

Dave, are you taking delivery of your 1370 in N Ca? Did you get the Ruby Rose configuration?

Re: Considering new Seawind 1260

Ok, you've talked me into speaking with a Seawind rep to discuss delivery windows / options for a 1370. Did you get the Ruby Rose configuration? Are you taking delivery in Vietnam?

Re: New Balance 442

I've requested information / quotes for the Seawind 1370 and Balance 442. It's a tough choice. Next hull available for the Balance 442 is 2023. I suspect the Seawind is 5 years out! One's got to have...

Re: Can you have Comfort, Value and Performance in a Catamaran?

Hi Astroman, I have the exact same requirements as you. Have you found a solution? Would save me a whole lot of analysis paralysis to get your feedback, thanks! Mark

Re: Helia 44, Review after a charter week

Hi Eddie,

My sweetheart and I are now in the market to buy a liveaboard cruiser (45' range) as well. I wonder, did you end up buying one? If so, which one? If not, do you have a shortlist you can...
