Why does it make things look funny? No one seems particularly interested in anything other than blathering. The PJs saying that they had to manually pump twice a day is seen as a grave inconsistency... |

If I have to call out a rescue unit to evacuate a crew member, I am probably going to be thinking "Would I set out in this vessel in this condition?" rather than "Is this vessel in bad enough shape... |

Actually, what the blog says is that they had three days from the time they pushed the EPIRB until the Vandegrift arrived - the PJ's probably asked them to turn it on to serve as a homing beacon. |

The boat did not actually lose steering (well, not before they removed the wheel, anyway). That was mis-reporting. |

Where have you seen that? All I see are comments claiming that "twice a day" and "every few hours" are grossly incompatible versions of the story, rather than normal variations. |
