Steve, I think to do that properly would require an incredible investment in time, money, additional help and equipment to prove anything for just one anchor, nevermind your whole portfolio..

On a comparative note;
I suspect that the holding power of some of those pole and lap dancers are superior to the swim suit models .. :)

Interesting observation that I'd never thought about.

On Superyachts, my practice , if sea room allowed was to always slowly back away from point where anchor lifts from bottom in a slow curve...

Simple reason for chain untwisting upon retrieval .
Once anchor is off the bottom, it spins and unwinds any twists that your gypsy kept pushing towards the anchor
I never use swivels for that reason

I don't know if Steve has ever tested a "Quick Link" or Boomerang bar on seabed anchor performance .

Curious when you have a 180° breakout and recovery, if it helps or hinders?

Exactly! Big ships depend far more on the weight and surface area of large link chain for added resistance.

I still think it is an interesting test to see if the pendant burries easier, but...

Interesting test with the pennant by I have to ask myself, why bother?
The negatives, far outweigh any benefits.

It would seem to me that a braided wire pennant would not have the long term...

I believe this is your best video to date Steve, primarily because you tested in two different substrates which flip flopped the rankings .

If anything, that demonstrates how unbiased your tests...

Yes I've had 2 CQR anchors on since 2004.
Sketchy performance with direction changes as you demonstrated.

I will shift the larger CQR to Starboard Side as a backup
